No. That's just how they were. The head light units fit just the actual lenses look like they don't.

Oh I know. You see it all over the place, really. On the Fiesta, even with the black plastic around the chrome elements, you can tell it was made to fit that particular opening. On the DAF, tho, it just looks as though the light fixture doesn't line up w/ the hole, like they had designed the front to accept a different piece. I think the fact that its set back into the fascia (and not flush with the surface) contributes to that feeling.
